Prof. Ganesh’s study fluid flow problems of relevance using state-of-the-art experimental techniques such as particle image velocimetry, particle tracking velocimetry, X-ray densitometry and X-ray computed tomography. Acquisition and processing of large noisy experimental data require computational resources and algorithms to not only expedite the process, but also perform analysis on large datasets. Reconstruction of flow fields from these measurements use a image processing techniques, correlation techniques, estimation of gradients from measured data, among others.
