Research

Eban-Rothschild Lab focuses on uncovering the neuronal circuitry that governs natural behaviors. Utilizing state-of-the-art deep learning algorithms, we are able to detect, track, and classify behavioral patterns in animals, enabling high-throughput and intricate analyses. We employ electrophysiological techniques like electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) to determine animals’ arousal states, adding a valuable contextual layer to our behavioral studies. Additionally, we utilize local field potential (LFP) recordings and calcium imaging to monitor targeted neuronal populations. To interrogate the functions of these specific neuronal circuits, we apply advanced manipulation techniques, such as optogenetics and chemogenetics.
