My main research interests include: Hamiltonian and Lagrangian mechanics, gradient flows and nonlinear and optimal control both in the smooth and discrete settings. I am interested in applications of gradient flows to image registration and the application of optimal control to deep learning. I also have research interests in networks and biological applications. Additional interests include hybrid systems and quantum systems.
