Portrait of Nicholas Forcone

Background

My research is is on numerical simulation of the atmosphere and Earth system. I am working on a project to permit and evaluate kilometer-scale climate modeling with the Community Earth System Model (CESM). Kilometer-scale resolution will allow for storm systems in the atmospheric mesoscale (tens to hundreds of kilometers) to be explicity resolved by the model.
