MICDE Fellowship Nomination
Instructions
You will need the following information ready to fill the form:
- the student’s full name
- their undergraduate institution and major
- their Master’s institution and major (if applicable)
- expected research area and brief statement of support, and
- the student’s U-M application file (pdf).
We can only accept one nomination per faculty member. Please nominate a student to whom an offer has already been made, for whom you believe the fellowship will make a material difference in deciding to join U-M. See our Fellowships page for more information. If you have questions, please email [email protected].
Timeline
There are two nomination cycles (see details below). The final deadline to submit a nomination is Sunday, March 8, 2026 at 11:59pm Eastern.
- Cycle 1: Sunday, February 1, 2026. We expect to send out our decisions the week of February 22.
- Cycle 2: Sunday, March 8, 2026. We expect to send out our decisions the week of March 22.
The idea between the two-deadline system is that some departments will make their offers earlier than others and will need to receive decisions before other departments have made offers. We will not consider a nominee who has not yet received an offer, so please plan to submit during the appropriate window.
MICDE Incoming Graduate Student Fellowship Nominations
Please nominate an exceptional prospective graduate student to whom an offer has already been made, and for whom you believe the fellowship will make a difference in deciding to attend U-M.
The primary basis for our decision will be a record of excellent work in computational science, but we may also consider factors such as prior academic performance, financial need, a history of leadership and service, and contributions to a broad and inclusive scientific computing community at U-M.
