Hosted by MICDE, the State of AI & the Future of Institutions event brings together scholars, students, and institutional leaders to examine how AI is evolving and how it may reshape universities, research, work, governance, and society. The series considers not only what AI can do today, but also how its rapid development may change the institutions that create, regulate, and depend on knowledge. Moving beyond abstract debate, the event focuses on practical insight: what AI makes possible, what risks it introduces, and how institutions can prepare responsibly for its disruptive impact. Held each semester, the series aims to help institutions adapt to AI while actively shaping a more resilient, responsible, and human-centered future.
