Portrait of Amir Nazemi

Background

I am interested in interdisciplinary research at the intersection of granular mechanics, soft matter physics, and computational modeling. My work focuses on the coupled dynamics of deformable bodies and granular media, where I employ large-scale DEM-FEM simulations and experiments to study intrusion and locomotion of deformable bodies in granular media. By integrating machine learning techniques into this framework, I develop data-driven models for the inference of granular material properties from the behavior of deformable intruders.
