The poster competition highlighted outstanding computational work from U-M students and postdocs.
Victor Wu, Industrial and Operations Engineering, won first place and $500 for his poster “Multicriteria Optimization for Brachytherapy Treatment Planning.” Co-authors were Marina Epelman, Mustafa Sir, Kalyan Pasupathy, Michael Herman and Christopher Duefel.
The second place poster, winning $250, was from Sambit Das of Mechanical Engineering: “Large Scale Electronic Structure Studies on the Energetics of Dislocations in Al-Mg Materials System and Its Connection to Mesoscale Models” with co-author Vikram Gavini.
Third place, also with a $250 prize, went to Joseph Cicchese, Chemical Engineering, for “How to optimize tuberculosis antibiotic treatments using a computational granuloma model” with co-authors Elsje Pienaar, Denise E. Kirschner, Jennifer J. Linderman.
